Loyola alum and fan living in Texas (The Woodlands) checking in here. First and foremost - I’m really glad you guys agreed to play this game. It’s not easy scheduling a game on short notice, and the fact that your coach was willing to travel all the way to Chicago is awesome. Going through all the protocols, travel, etc. is no easy task, and your team was already at a disadvantage from the tip because of it. We were equally as happy to get this game as you, given the circumstances.

St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.
Recent Past
With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. No other player has accomplished what he has.

Imagine what he would have accomplished if the 2020 NCAA Tournament had not been cancelled. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.
A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.
