Think about how strong high school football is in the metroplex.

If you're Trinity and you want to win the state title this year, your path is Allen...then Southlake Carroll...then the winner of Duncanville/Desoto...then a state final against Galena Park North Shore or Cibolo Steele or Austin Westlake

Lovejoy finally lost tonight in the 5A D II state quarterfinals.  UNT’s own Brandon Jackson and Marcus Trice did a great job on the coaching staff leading these young men on an undefeated season up to this point.  Bummer.

Man I wish Aledo had to play in the division that includes Ryan.  Their run of dominance would come to a stop

Yup 2 special teams TDs usually lose you ball games.  That was a fun game to watch.

Denton county has had 3 teams go far this playoffs. Denton county has also produced around 15-20 D1 football players.

A very talented county.

Yet none of them go to UNT.

Ryan and Guyer are powerhouse programs and Denton High has an occasional strong season yet UNT rarely brings any of those guys in.

Yep—it sucks. But these Denton kids have only grown up hearing how much the local citizenry loathes UNT Football’s existence.

I think that many of these kids would do well to turn things around here at UNT. Play close to home In front of families and friends. That’s where having a Denton HS coach on staff would be huge...
