Whatever we do, we have to recruit the SF/PF role with tenacity. Not sure how the roster will shape up, but landing the most athletic, springy and long 6'5"-6'8" guys as possible is never a bad idea. These are the dirty work players, the better defenders, the residual rebounders, etc. They are the foundation players. Then piece around that foundation with very good bigs* and pg's.
*if you can't snag a very quality big, go get another 6-7"-6'8" guy. Don't go get 6'11" just to have 6'11" on the bench.
Maybe because we were 2-9 with that schedule. Coaches and possible AD’s aren’t employed that long with those kind of records… not to mention recruiting and etc
It's not the NCAA per se. They can't control the big guys - they consistently lose in court when the Big 10 or whoever challenges them. Even a few weeks ago the SEC commissioner made a veiled threat about not letting in so many auto bids from smaller conferences so the big boys can get practically their whole leagues in the postseason. That's what I'm starting to worry about.
