Stats - Seth proving they mean squat

Recommended Posts

We put up nearly 500 yards.

Once again Seth leaves starters in in games that are out of reach so he can pad the stats. He does not care about building depth, especially at QB. I thought this was only an issue when Mason was here, but no, just Seth putting his desire to have good offensive numbers about building a team.

I'll add more perpective for you. Littrell piles up most of those offensive stats in the second half of games we are being blown out of, meaning they are garbage stats added after games have been decided and the opponents back ups are on the field.

The only stat that means anything is points. If you gain 500 yards you should have more than 28 points.

Also, consider how many 3 and outs we've had (not just this year), especially in the first 2 series of the game.  These kinds of offenses are supposed to move the ball and maybe stall out, but at least you're burning some time and helping field position.  Too many times we got the ball on the 25 and punted from the 31 just a couple of minutes into the game.  It's like letting the other team choose the toss for both halves.

I am not sure what your points are.  NT is a bad team because of the defense.

What do you expect the offense to do?  Move the ball slower.

When the defense gives up 3 one play drives of over 60, you are questioning the quality of the yards the NT offense gains.
