I know today has been busy and exciting with recruiting, but I was on YouTube and this game popped up on my recommendations! 

17 years ago today, we played in our 3rd straight bowl game. A very much improved Memphis team beat (in my opinion) the best overall North Texas team since 2013.

NT didn’t quite take advantage of the situations given like Cobbs falling on what could’ve been a huge TD run.

Really wish we could see another NT team like this, but you never know.

Here I go again about the past, but Fry’s last game as the UNT HFC was against the U of Memphis Tigers on a cold, frosty night at old Fouts Field.  It was a Mean Green win & the only time I saw us beat UM.  

Some of us actually thought we had a chance to get an invite to the Astro-Bluebonnet but—no dice.  Old SWC fossil Tex Thornton was its Executive Director for a hint why. 

PS:  This was the Astrodome for a UH Band Day, circa, 1966.  F2F09C52-6C02-4170-BC35-474C3FA59A27.jpeg.7662f50a666a89ca0eae11d682281beb.jpeg❇️ UNT played 1 game vs the Coogs in the ‘Dome.

I was there for that game, the only bowl game I could afford to attend as a broke college student who was there for the 2001-2004 run. Totally thought we had a great shot and let the game disappointed thinking what could have been...

      A-Scott Projected to OU

      St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.

      Recent Past With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. No other player has accomplished what he has. https://meangreensports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/javion-hamlet/4731 Imagine what he would have accomplished if the 2020 NCAA Tournament had not been cancelled. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.
