Sophie's Choice - Frisco Bowl

I find it so hilarious that SMU has now made three bowls in 4 years, as a member of “P6” AAC, and they have gotten as opponents three CUSA opponents, La Tech, FAU, and now UTSA. It would appear that they really aren’t any higher up the FBS food chain than lowly ol’ UNT. I hope UTSA boat races them, just as the other two CUSA teams have done.

Is UTSA the first team to receive and accept bids to play in two bowl games in the same season?

Yes, according to Brett McMurphy from College Football Insider.
