This is what the undefeated Coastal Carolina is paying for their coach.

“Chadwell, 42, a Tennessee native and East Tennessee State graduate who has nine years of collegiate head coaching experience, will make a base salary of $350,000 this year, $375,000 in 2020-21, $400,000 in 2021-22 and $425,000 through the contract’s final year ending June 30, 2023.”

How many P5's would hire an option coach? That seriously keeps his leverage down.

Could be a good option (pun intended) for a bottom feeder a P5 conference because it is a pain the the ass for the opposition. I would say it helped GaTech in the ACC. Maybe Rutgers or Vandy might opt for it. The service academies use it pretty well to stay competitive against better teams.

Are they considered an option team?  They have averaged 224 yards rushing on 45 attempts per game versus 211 yards passing on 24 attempts per game.  They are definitely run heavy, but when I think of an option team, I think of the old teams like OU and Nebraska that threw it maybe 6 or 7 times a game.

Here is a good article breaking down Coastal's offense.  With our stable of RB's, I would love to see something like this added to our running game.

UNT averages 230.2 YPG on 5.38 YPC

CC averages 223.2 YPG on 5.06 YPC

Safe to say both team's rushing schemes are working very well this year seeing as they are Top 15 in the country. One can only imagine ours can improve in 2021 with a collective group of OL with another year of experience under Bloesch and Adaway & Co.

Winning ones... If he keeps winning no one will care. Nebraska did it for years. Tom Osborne did it for a career. The game hasn't changed so much that it doesn't work. It just isn't popular.

I agree, but 99.9% of our running plays are between the tackles from a single back set.  I would just like to see a backfield with two backs that provides options and doesn't allow the defense to key on one person.
