Kudos to FW fireman, ex Talon & UNT Super fan Rick McKinney (of Weatherford) for his part in preserving the tradition of Boomer the cannon!      👍👍

❇️🦅Celebrating Past Heroes at UNT...

In this video, North Texas alum Mean Joe Greene is united with the Coca Cola Kid at UNT’s Apogee Stadium.  Their commercial won a Cleo (like  an Oscar) & remains one of the most popular commercials in the annals of Television.  🗣”Thanks, Mean Joe & Coca Cola Kid!”


Joe Greene’s statue is located on Apogee Stadium’s west side.  In a ceremony attended by a couple of thousand fans the statue was unveiled on September 29, 2018.  
• Honoring Joe were numerous NFL celebrities & teammates from the 1968 North Texas Mean Green team.  Celebrities included Abner Haynes, Earl Campbell, Franco Harris, Charles Hailey, Tony Dorsett,  Chuck Beatty, Walt Garrison & others.
