This year, we have seen two more FBS newbies with relatively new programs get ranked. Coastal Carolina at 13 and now, next year's OOC home opponent, Liberty, who is now ranked 25th.

I've lost count to how many teams have started at the FBS level since 1995 like we did and have managed to build a ranked program during that time frame. SO freaking depressing....

Didn’t Coastal Carolina win the college World Series a couple of years ago?

Seems The Sun Belt Conference moves forward and CUSA is spiraling out of control..

 

 

 

Leadership. CUSA's lack of leadership is going to continue driving this conference to the bottom. It still gets me how some people talk about this team or that team is not good enough for CUSA, when the truth be told, most of the teams would bolt in a heart beat. Are there any teams in the Sun Belt who would leave to come to CUSA? Right now it would be hard to say that, at least if your talking football, we made a good choice moving out of the Sun Belt.

Yet at the G5 level can’t these conference things change dramatically from year to year?  
Wasn’t that long ago when CUSA was the toast of the town with several schools with  bowl wins in one or 2 seasons.
And Top 25?  Come on now, Slippery Rock U could make this abbreviated covid 19 football seasons Top 25.

The Sun Belt has a good strong leader, hence the good TV contract and winning teams. Meanwhile our conference is a complete crap shoot, and only 1 team 2+ games over .500 (Marshall)

Then hire the SBC Commissioner?  
He’d probably like to live in the 7
million-strong populated North Texas Metroplex.  Trade mint juleps for Texas BBQ?  No contest!🙄

      A-Scott Projected to OU

      St. Johns is one of the great sleeping giant jobs in the nation. They have a fantastic basketball history (they haven't been that great for the last generation or so, but the Johnies do have a helluva tradition) going back about 80 years and they play in NYC at MSG.

      Recent Past With all the excitement over Tylor Perry we quickly forgot about the best player from our recent past. The stats and awards bear it out. In my mind the answer is Javion Hamlet. No other player has accomplished what he has. https://meangreensports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/javion-hamlet/4731 Imagine what he would have accomplished if the 2020 NCAA Tournament had not been cancelled. We won the Conference in 2020 and arguably that was the best team we have ever had.

      Judge orders Florida State, ACC to mediation to settle suit

      A majority of schools could just vote to dissolve the ACC. There would be a court fight, but eventually schools that want out will be released with some greatly reduced financial penalty. It's like a divorce, you can't keep someone in an unhappy relationship, even with a contract. It will happen probably before the end of next year at the pace things are moving.
