Making his collegiate debut, Marzilio fired four birdies on the day and finished at 1-under 71 as the Mean Green shot a 12-over 300 to put them in second place heading into the second round Monday, just one shot off the leader, No. 10 Baylor. UNT is two shots up on third-place Pepperdine, which ended last season as GolfStat's top-ranked team in the country. The Mean Green are three shots up on No. 4 Texas, which sits in fourth place.

Having a tough day today, but they have had a good showing in a very strong field.

I Guess they will end up 6th in a field that included 8 teams that ended last season ranked, 5 of which were in the top 10. I'd say even though they couldn't quite repeat day one, they still executed pretty well on the home advantage.
