football team is tough to watch right now. defense is atrocious, offense is goodish.  probably gonna be a 2-3 win season...oh well.  we have football.  i think some people put too much emotion/life into a game.  i love the school, love watching the games, but it isn't a big deal.  i buy season tickets/donate so i can tailgate and hangout with friends.  i hate most people, so hanging out with folks i like 6 times times a year is worth the cash.  the team is trying.  it's not like they are choosing to suck balls and the coaches are just wasting time with their lives.  everyone wants to improve and better themselves for the next level.

 

north texas will never be alabama, hell, not even tennessee or boise....cool...whatever.  we can all have expectations, but when those aren't met...chill.  it's just a game.  i assume those here tailgate for hours, some more than others, so that should be worth a lot.  i would love to see the team win more, but it doesn't happen.  maybe i'm an abused fan and just used to the shit.  maybe i'm someone that appreciates what i have with being a season ticket holder.

 

whatever our position is in life, it's still enjoyable 6 times a year.  if losing football games changes your outlook on life or changes how you feel for the week...i got nothing for ya, but good luck figuring it out.

 

appreciate north texas for what it is, athletically (sports board and all).  football...not good...basketball...shows promise....golf...not bad (ortiz/munoz on tour)...soccer is great, just need to get that ncaa win...volleyball has been rocking.

 

in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter...chill...relax...enjoy life

i am right there with you. I have been coming to football games since the early 70’s. When you said atmosphere and the attitude! Being with long time friends and making new friends each season! Football home games are great! I wait all year for the next season to start.

i feel bad for Coach Littrell - he is catching too much heat for the way this season is playing. With over 21 players out, key players out, having to change players to new positions, I am kinda surprised we have a football team to watch and cheer for! 

Watching the game against Charlotte I could easily see Charlotte was running plays to our weakest side, where four true freshmen were starting, all game long! 

That is all I will say about the game.

The younger guys are gaining value this season. Getting better! I am looking forward to the 2021 season to see these players can make a difference.

SL does not get a pass from me though. Every blown bowl. Last season. This season. The FAU blowouts...  He just can't do it. Covid didn't blow those games. He and his staff did. With the best facilities and recruiting we've ever had.  

 

Anyways...

      When are we going to hear some good news?

      Obviously, we fans do not know; how could anyone know? It maybe an excellent assumption just based on NT apparently can't keep anyone, but there is no way to verify this. I can't believe that any of the AAC teams have a substantially edge in NIL funding other than Memphis and SMU. There is something else going on other than the NIL factor. Has anyone else noticed that there are a great number of players entering the Portal, but at this time; very few have been identified as committing or signing with another team. My guess or maybe just my hope is that NT is in much better shape than the fans recognize. Players have committed whether they are transfers, high schoolers, or those that have entered the portal and not found a better home.

      I tried this and it did NOT go over well. It probably had something to do with the timing: I said it right after the boss said "I'll be right back. I need to use the restroom."

      What I don't understand: How do we know our NIL is underfunded compared to our conference mates and other peers when the financials don't have to be publicly reported?

      That is a trick question. Few players that sign at any school other than the very top tier (SEC, Big East, etc.) schools would not desire to be part of those elite programs. Likewise, by signing with any team that player has expressed his desire to play for that team. So there is no way, a kid? (player) would sign at any school if he did not want to be there. Maybe not his first choice or in his top hundred; but based on what is available to him; it was decided it was his best option.
