Bean and Aune did not look that good...

Defense was solid throughout, and seem to be doing well in the new 3-3-5

OL is still shaky at times but I feel like they are better than last year

Also, gate was open

This might be the year where we run the ball a lot and whoever is the better game manager wins the job. But what do I know.

Oh yeah we ran a lot today. Had probably a total of 100 plus plays on offense, and quite a few were runs. Adaway was really strong

I don’t even remember who Cassidy and Brown are.

Brown has been mentioned as a likely starter for a while, but usually at guard. He was an underrecruited offensive lineman from Conroe and seems to have developed well. Cassidy was also pretty underrecruited out of Angleton and was a tough eval out of high school because his team ran a veer/wishbone type offense, so was tough to project him as a pass blocker.

Normally, the defense is way ahead of the offense in spring training, but the offense catches up somewhere during fall camp.

Also, normally, QBs and WRs spend hours upon hours together over the summer in voluntary workouts getting their routes and timing together.

The fact that the offense (particularly the QBs and WRs) haven't been able to spend the normal time together has to hurt that progress.  The fact that no one knows who the starting QB will be can also hurt that progress.

Martin hooked up with redshirt junior receiver Troy Edwards, Jr. along the far sideline, and Edwards did the rest, getting himself to the end zone for a 60-yard scoring strike early on.

Troy Edwards Jr, son of former Pittsburgh Steeler receiver.

Thanks, Billy. I need to go back at look at our older classes in 247 and review these guys.

Dad was also a La Tech grad. Wonder how he got away from them?
