Spring transfer portal
One of the assistants told a group of us at the spring game that we were purposefully waiting on after everyone's spring to go after some defensive linemen in the portal. They didn't want us to tell anyone as they feared some other teams may also try that but I think the cat is probably out of the bag at this point. -

The spring transfer portal opened today for football players. Wonder if we will lose anyone. The portal stays open for two weeks for non grad transfers.- 1

Portal players by conference
Total speculation but many of those schools are in places with less competition for sports dollars so might be getting good community support for NIL. Plus a high percentage of MWC teams make the tournament so plenty of opportunities for the big stage.
