I was thinking this kind of thing would happen. It would be wise to let the P5 teams cancel their pay-out games before we and the other G5 teams do so.

I think that's what we are doing. I also think - at least it appears - that all the CUSA schools are doing just that.

It is funny, I read several places that the P5 tend to think they will not get sued by the G5 schools about cancelling because those G5 schools will need those games in the future and will be afraid of being blackballed.

i think those folks underestimate how many ADs will need money NOW and how many will be willing to have future problems be something they will solve in the future. It's often about survival in the here and now.

It will be tougher when it comes to FCS who moved early though. It is obviously not a good look to be the bigger program that is suing the smaller one, and it may be less worth it because it is about less money (although potential repercussions are also lower). But again programs may simply feel that they cannot afford to let go off those cancellation fees in the current environment.

The P5’s only think this because they know the G5 schools won’t band together.   If we ALL demand that they honor the scheduled game or pay us then they can’t blackball anyone.

They all know that they would NEVER cut off G5 teams and force themselves to play 12 games against schools with similar resources...you think UT wants to actually play teams from the ACC, Pac-12, or (least likely) the SEC in non-conference?

I mostly agree. However, there just may end up being critical mass among the G5 who will sue. not because they come together and make a decision, but because for 25-50% of programs it may be about the urgency of  survival in the here and now.  If even only 25% of G5 schools sue, it will already be hard to blackball them, if its 50% it will become impossible.
