Want to Stop Wearing Masks?

Recommended Posts

If everyone wore a mask that says TRUMP 2020 you can bet that within five minutes or less the left would be out saying masks are no longer necessary!

Have to admit...not original with me and the source was not listed...but, come on, in this political climate in which we find ourselves...you have to admit this is funny...true...but funny!

Looking at the statistics for how Republicans feel about him and his handling of the pandemic, they will included in the quick to remove category too.

But really, this isn't even a funny joke. There's no comedic value.

Where's the punchline? The left doesn't approve of how Trump is governing? Or that we would just switch the masks inside out? The left is not trying to ignore science like the right?

The punch line seems to be that the left would start to think irrationally like the right based upon our visceral reactions to Trump's handling of these problems. Doesn't seem like a joke on the left.

it's funny because so many people hate the man that they will do the opposite of what he says.

and that's the problem with america today...too many people blindly follow/hate the president that they can't see through their hatred/allegiance at the good/bad that he has done.  he has done good things, he has done shitty things...just like every damn president, but for some reason, people don't care.  it's either trump great or trump bad...it's sad that people are so closed minded nowadays

This is certainly nothing new and people need to look in the mirror. I agree 100%.

However, there is definitely one side that is more cultish in their blind following. Even though there are more 'lefts' in the country - we can't get our act together to blindly follow whomever wins. Obama was hit hard from the left for his international policies and drone bombing weddings. Clinton was hit hard for his don't ask don't tell stances. Hillary didn't win because liberals were who hurt about Bernie and the DNC sat out the election.

I really don't recall a president before that has ever had such a legion of buttlicking fans.
I was born during Reagan.  Bush, Clinton, W, Obama... they all had their supporters, and their detractors like every president before.   But I never really saw any of their supporters take things so personally like Trump's fans do.    There are probably some normal Trump supporters out there too, but there are a ton of people who are just so far up his rear-end they can't see reality.  It's really weird.   I have people I consider friends, who outside of talking politics, are very grounded people... but somehow this dude has pulled a ton of wool over their eyes to where he cannot even be somewhat criticized without triggering.

just bolding that spot because i don't follow politics enough to know about the political issues that you specified.  from what i see online, it's the opposite of the what you stated.  it's the cultish hate about whatever the president says/does/acts/thinks/tweets, but, social media is extremely democratic is political leanings.  i guess it's the beauty of life (or maybe the shity part of life) that you and i can see the same things out there, yet view them differently. who knows.

MeanGreenTexan states "But I never really saw any of their supporters take things so personally like Trump's fans do"...funny, i see the other side taking every little thing personally...i think everyone is way to emotional when it comes to trump

I voted for obama's second term (voted 3rd party in 08 due to not knowing enough about obama and not liking romney), bill clinton both times, but also voted for bush and trump, no problem saying those things.  i voted for trump for the sheer fact that i wanted someone different from the career politician.  I honestly don't think it's been a bad 4 years and will probably vote for him again.  every candidate has issues.

it is when everything someone says, you hate and you can find no good/positive in someone.  ...just like on this site.  any person that is of a different political leaning than you/i, gets a downvote.  it's pathetically obvious.  that's the point i was making.

He does say some pretty ridiculous things.    And when he gets called out or criticized for it, people that I would normally expect to be in agreement jump to his defense.

For instance, the latest petty thing he's done is stage a bean company endorsement because their CEO came out and said nice things about him.   When he gets called out for trifling, his fans run to the grocery store to buy a ton of beans.  These are some of the same people that would normally say, "yeah, that's pretty childish.", if it were anyone else.
Now, you're absolutely right in that there are people on the other side who immediately swear-off said bean company simply because their CEO said nice things about Trump.  That's absolutely immature as well.

@THOR  I genuinely appreciate you acknowledging how you don't follow politics closely and not up to speed on the topics I mentioned.  For real. Also, for being open on how you see it..

The lack of Biden coverage may be indication on how you center-oriented (assuming you think your new is center focused) news sources is really not as center as you think it is. Biden just released his economic and environmental plans.  Not to mention he has done live press conferences. Why you don't see more news on him - is because there is pandemic underway, no federal plan on it and the economy is struggling. That is why it focuses mostly on Trump - since he is in control of those things. This is his administration.

I find it hard to understand that you don't see Trump as an outside the normal president (not his non-politician experience aspect). He is a lightning rod on all fronts - things that both parties and all voters have rejected over and over. Whether it is his person life of three wives, adultery, explicit affairs, paying off porn stars to hide their affairs, outright lying, personal attorney going to prison for campaign finance violations, his campaign chair going to prison, getting impeached, ties to Epstein, the whole 'grab them by the pussy', publicly loving up dictators, Russian bounty on troops, crashing economy .... You can see that in a NORMAL time and NORMAL attitude about presidents - he would not have the fans he has.  I don't get how you can't see that.

See... but that is the rub here. Those people acting immaturely are not professionals and can shoot from the hip in the name of 'voting with their dollar.' It is to be expected and happens all the time. People are free to act a fool.

But the leader of the free world SHOULD be professional, but he can't get out of his own way and violates the Hatch act. He uses the Oval Office as a tool to help that company and troll those libtards. We expect him to be better than some snowflake who shoots from the hip. We SHOULD all have that expectation of our leaders. We are not wrong in having our expectations - regardless of who we voted for.

you can't have meaningful conversation if you aren't honest, simple as that.

i don't watch the news...hate it...always negative.   the news i see is online through social media, which i know is bad, but not one thing that has happened in the news has negatively affected me.  i'm not as intuned as others and i'm sure something out there has affected me, but i don't see it.  my life doesn't change day to day... (well, except when the bars closed down...i tend to drink a lot)

i see everything that you mentioned.  i'm not blind to things that go on, but i also don't care as much.  no person is perfect, no president is perfect, they all have skeletons and issues.  hell, clinton got a bj and spooged on some chic in the oval office that wasn't his wife...ok, that's his choice.  that choice didn't affect my lifeand he was still a really good president.

i also like that trump is a lightning rod...that he is unpredictable and that he isn't a normal politician.  i believe career politicians are way to comfortable and truly don't do anything unless it helps themselves.

i'm a fan of the one that goes against the grain, the person that gets the job done in nonnormal ways.  i love it...it's how i live my life and how i teach in my classroom.  i get in trouble plenty of times by parents that don't like how i do things, but the kids love me (in that nonweird way) and learn so much more than they would with a regular, by the book teacher.

could those things bite me in that ass as a teacher?  sure

could those things bite us in the ass with our president? sure

but that doesn't mean that they will

and i've seen some of biden's live press conferences and they were a disaster...dude can't keep a straight thought, forgets words, goess from a serious reply to don't worry about it.  i was more referring to the specifics of previous administrations that you brought up when i said i don't pay much attention to politics.  of course, i still had no idea biden released his environmental and economic plans...guess i need to go see them, but i don't havea problem with how the economy is now and i don't really care about the environment all that much.

maybe they jump to his defense because they agree with him...just because it's ridiculous to you, doesn't mean it's ridiculous to them.  very simple...or maybe they are blind followers, but you can't discount everyone that doesn't agree with you.

you see things as ridiculous and petty...other see that those are needed responses or common sense thoughts.  you have to have just as much of an open mind as you want others to have and be able to see things from all sides.

Yes - my mistake. I was thinking of his other advisors violating the Hatch Act. Thank you for the correction.

He only violated the ethics roles of the government. Not Hatch.

Where does banging your intern in the Oval Office fall on the scale?🤣🤣

Banging an intern while married does not fall within the realm of my approval.

Was it criminal? No. Lying about it? Yes.

Banging a porn actress criminal? No. Paying porn actress to keep quiet criminal? Yes.

Right and wrong on these matters is easy. They are the softballs.

Obama, maybe a little... Not nearly as saturated as Trump & his sheep.

And again, when a president is called to task, or even beyond to the point of ridicule, why would any other person feel so personally insulted?   Is it just because you put a check next to his name on a ballot one time?

Criminal?  Ever heard of workplace sexual harrassment?  She was an intern and he a superior.  I don't care if she was willing or not.

4. Supervisor Section

The following questions and answers address many issues which will need to be addressed primarily by supervisors and managers.

Can consensual sexual relations between a supervisor and his or her subordinate be considered sexual harassment?

Yes. While a consensual sexual relationship between a supervisor and a subordinate is not prohibited, it will always have consequences, some of which can be considered sexual harassment. (Some companies outright prohibit these types of relationship - check your company policy.) It is important and professional that managers and supervisors maintain high standards of fairness and impartiality in their supervision of employees. These standards may be compromised, or at least the appearance of neutrality will be compromised, if a manager engages in a sexual relationship with a subordinate. It is difficult to give an impartial performance appraisal to someone with whom you are involved in a sexual relationship. Moreover, if the relationship between the supervisor and the employee ends or creates a hostile environment for others, then it may form the basis upon which a sexual harassment complaint can be filed. For professional reasons, these relationships should be avoided and, if one occurs, both individuals may want to consider the possibility of transfer.

If you think sex at the work place is always a crime - you need some more critical thinking skillz.

"Can consensual sexual relations between a supervisor and his or her subordinate be considered sexual harassment?

Yes."

Is it always -- obviously not.

Did Monica come and say he harassed her or forced her into a BJ? No.

So I am going with her word. Had she said yes and he forced her - then my answer would be yes.
