It’s been five days since the University of Houston on Friday became the first school in the nation to suspend athletic activities, with six student-athletes testing positive for COVID-19.

Yet mum is still the word on Cullen Boulevard. Or in a Zoom world, someone has turned off your camera and hit the mute button.

I know it might take some time to gather your thoughts. It’s a delicate issue. Some would argue — myself included — that you screwed up, to put it nicely, by not requiring testing for all athletes upon their return to campus for voluntary workouts June 1.
