DENTON – Steven Haunga has been named North Texas’ offensive quality control coach and Mackenzie Morris has been named the Mean Green’s new recruiting operations coordinator, head football coach Seth Littrell announced Wednesday. Haunga most recently spent time as an offensive graduate assistant at Auburn, while Morris was the on-campus recruiting assistant at Arkansas for the past two seasons.

Prior to his season at Auburn, where he worked with the Tigers’ offensive line, Haunga worked with current Mean Green co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Mike Bloesch at Tulsa for three seasons. Haunga was a graduate assistant in 2016 on the athletic performance staff, an offensive graduate assistant in 2017 and was promoted to be an offensive analyst ahead of the 2018 season.

Haunga served as the defensive line coach at Kuna High School in Idaho, and also spent time as a strength and conditioning intern at the University of California and Boise State. He was a two-year letterman on the offensive line at Arkansas State University and served as team captain his senior season. He played two seasons at College of the Canyons before moving on to Arkansas State.

Morris was responsible for planning and executing official visits during the 2018 and 2019 seasons for the Razorbacks. Additionally, Morris assisted the director of recruiting and director of on-campus recruiting during her time in Fayetteville.

Prior to that, Morris was also a recruiting assistant at SMU for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, assisting the director of recruiting with daily needs of the recruiting department.

Weird fact: Ramon is currently Director of Former Player Relations at SMU.

I've never heard of that position.  Is this pretty common, to have a paid position where someone just keeps tabs with student-athlete alumni?

Does that involve fighting fans of your own in the stands when your offense sucks real hard??

I think it's safe to say he isn't reaching out to Bill anytime soon.

Those later years of the Dickster and Ramon Flanagan just running an offense to finish the game as fast as possible, while sitting in Fouts, were just brutally boring. Of course, in true UNT fashion, our next coach couldn’t stop a YMCA offense, and our next coach literally lost his mind to the point of losing the worst game in modern college football history.

Almost makes Seth’s 4-8 season look ok by comparison....

I thought Matt Phillips served in that position with us at one time coordinating the Letterman’s Association.
