Hard to get excited about bringing in a back-up at a position of weakness.

We don't need depth, we need improvement.

What we saw from the returners last year was a sack of nothing...  Coach Bloesch has his work cut out for him with Brammer/Parish, no doubt... but he’s not a miracle worker.  So unless the redshirt guys from last year’s class are ready to jump right in (which is still concerning), we’re gonna need this guy to produce the second he sets foot on campus.

A position that will help the o line a lot is a good size blocking tight end. The JUCO TE looks like a mauler. We have not had that option with Smith hurt the last 2 years. I also believe with quick outs and slants at the TE and slot will help a ton. Those options were not available because of Masons Ht. Gmg

Still need depth. You need your backups to be as close to performing as the starters. A very good backup an be a game saver

Exactly.  If you're low on depth, you can't wait for development. (I'm still hoping the guys from last year are improved this year.)

I get less excited about a JUCO signing when they are not going to arrive in time for spring.

So! Which is it for Mr.Turpin?

He is not listed on the spring football roster on the website, and was still in California as recent as the weekend so it's looking like a summer arrival for him.
