My favorite combo.  IMO, the only thing that would make this look even better is if they went with just wings instead of the full SOW on the helmets.

We first introduced the winged helmet in 2016 (in the Heart of Dallas Bowl if I remember correctly). 

Rice actually first did a version in 1990...

...which is even before Oregon first did it in 2012.

Rice did have a cooler version come out in 2013, which is still before we first did ours.

Is it me or is there just something off about the placement of the SOW? I love the logo...it just looks off on the helmet. 🤔

It's not just you.  It's too big to fit correctly on the helmet, but if it was smaller, it would look peony.  Thus, I like the oversized wing version.

I would guess that the bad guys will wear their red helmet, white jersey and red pants.

And that King and Corbin and maybe a few others will wear a look of embarrassment.

I love the sow on the helmet. Smaller would be ok but this works fine too.  Contours and *holes on modern helmets make large logos challenging but I love the look overall.
