Great example of playing like crap and barely losing.

Cal looks like a 5-7 team. But so do we. We left soooooooo many opportunities on the field.

The final score is close so the positive brigade will be out in force saying this is a step in the right direction. When in reality it was a poor showing.

Tough loss but a damn good effort.

Where? Cal might be the most anemic offensive team we play ALL year including all of our CUSA foes. That is a horrible offense.

Offensively, we were flat in the 1st quarter and put ourselves in another hole.

This was a piss poor effort by coaches AND players for 1.5 quarters and it's all Cal needed.

What a disgusting loss.

Cal won @ #14 Washington last week.

If this Cal defense ends up being one of the best in the nation at the end of the season then I wouldn't be disgusted.  They beat Washington last week 20-19

What an ugly, just, ugly game.

This Cal defense is good, not as advertised, but good. UNT, again, came out flat and lost the game in the first quarter. Does SL even talk to his dudes and get them juiced up before kick? Or does he do his Ben Stein impersonation that we always hear?

Because NT moved the ball.  Therefore their defense is not as advertised.

Great logic, could it be possible that NT's offense may deserve some credit?

With the way that first quarter went, I’m in total shock that this team had the ball with two minutes to go and a chance to win the game. If this passing game finds a spark next week I think we can be somewhat optimistic for the Houston game.
