New UNT Pre or post-game sandwich meal stop?

Now that they are closing down NY Sub 😥 anyone have suggestions for a good sandwich place for pre and or post game?   My fallback stop would probably be Rudy's most of the time, but in the case you aren't wanting barbeque and would prefer cold cuts or something different.  Please no Subway and preferably closer to UNT versus by TWU (too far).

While i agree with your emoticon about the potential closing of NY Sub Hub, 😥, I want to point out that NY Sub Hub still has no plans on closing at this time. "Business owners waiting out UNT offers to buy property:"

If they do close, then I recommend hitting up Rudy's.

I have never thought of sandwiches as a meal to eat before a football game, real men eat something that is from the grill!

Grilling before a football game is like high school football on a Friday night in Texas. A must and a given

I am so out of the loop here, and about to show my age, but whatever happened to Hooya? I remember giving plasma next door and immediately taking my $30 over to hooya for a Burrito. Weds was always the best day of my week.

Hooya closed after a bunch of drama with ownership around 10 years ago.

Is there any type of of NY Deli alternative in newDenton?   What about Gyros?

Wasn't there a deli on Hickory south of the square?  Weinberger's or something like that?  I have no idea if they are still around or what their food is like, but I recall seeing one down there a couple of years ago.

Weinberger's closed last year.  Gyro 360 Mediterranean is now at that location at Hickory & Oakland.
