Conference USA Softball Tournament: Official Thread

Recommended Posts

Overall great year for softball.

This is a prime example of coaching makes a difference.  I think only one of the team was recruited by Delong.

Lots of returnees including all the pitchers and what looks like a stellar recruiting class should spell trouble for the rest of CUSA next year.

Overrating means giving more value to it than it deserves.   It certainly does not mean it is of no value.  Like calling a 0-1 loss, a game that NT completely dominated is hyperbole.   t wou

Absolute clowns. Wake the hell up and start driving in some freaking runs.

The season is not over unless we choose not to participate in the Softball NIT. We may decline, but we have automatic bid because of winning the conference.

Part of the process is handling success.  I think we had a target on our back during the tournament and the pressure got to our bats.  A great learning experience for the team.  This team will be fun to watch next year.

Thanks to our seniors:

Harley Perella

Sally Gastelo

Hannah Gerecke

Sam Rea

Rhylie Makawe

I like our pitching staff for next year with Trautwein, Craine returning, Tindell, Goodrich and Lindsey.  Plus, adding the young lady from Duncanville.  Anyone know anything about Lindsey?

Agree.

He at least brought in two,... Goodrich from GT and Kenzie Young from Butler CC.

Just looking over some statistical differences from last year to this, and I noticed a couple of areas of interest that jumped out at me, This doesn’t include today’s games.

The team raised its batting average from .272 to .280.

Katie Clark raised her batting average from .375 to .412

Our on base % increased from .343 to .389

Our Opponents On Base % dropped from .340 to .309

We increased our rbi production by 48.

And the biggest thing I noticed...we increased our run total by 58.
