DRC: The NFL scouting combine list is out

Recommended Posts

I thought surely Ejiya, Hedlund, or one of the 2 corners would get a slot. I guess I was wrong. If Bussey has an injury-free year, I could see him getting us back in the combine next spring.

Interesting that there weren't enough pro scouts that wanted to see Ejiya enough to give him an invite.   There'll be plenty of people at NT's pro-day though.   Just gotta hope our guys do well there.

Maybe trying to under hype him so they get him cheaper as a UDFA?

Josiah Taulefa didn’t get invited either!

Poona Ford didn't get invited last year and he played last season.

Im wondering if there is some politics going on with this.  I am not saying we have tons of NFL talent, but its a little absurd to think we never have a guy to be invited to a combine.  If this is true, and we have no NFL level talent: we need to give this coaching staff major props.

Guyton was never going to make the combine but I'm shocked about the other guys. They're serious talent.

I hope he has gotten good advice along the way.  His decision to leave early was an extreme long shot, given the very few things he can contribute on the football field of an 85 scholaship + 15 to 20 walk-ons team translate well to a 53 man, half dozen scout team NFL roster, no matter what language is spoken in the home.  In layman's terms, it was an unmitigated disaster.

The good news for him, outside the good news of Jesus Christ, is that Bob Stoops is now coaching in the XFL.  And, the AAFL, another league of non-NFL quality football players, is in full swing as of this weekend.  The Canadian Football League, or CFL, is said to be a football league for non-NFL quality players who don't mind surrendering half or more of their small paycheck to the government of Canada.

Can't believe they didn't give Ejiya an invite given his production and measurables. I think he's a turned some heads.

Jeff Wilson went to the combine last year.  He couldn't participate in a lot of the drills because he was still recovering from his injury though.

Guyton should have stayed one more season and played lights out.  Just dont think his numbers were enough to impress the NFL.  I wish him the best.

I wonder if he just didn’t have any interest in graduate school.

I read an article (sorry, not sure where it was) that said combine invitees are already pretty much decided before the NCAA season begins. UNT didn't have the attention it does now a season ago, so I am wondering if we will get more invites next year and beyond.
