FAU beats MTSU 1-2 in OT.  It was a fun game to watch as MTSU out played FAU for a good part of the game.

I missed the first half but I guess UNT woke up because they dominated the ball in the second half.  So far UNT and FAU both look to have much better athletes than any other team in conference. FAU didn't play that well in their game but their speed was obvious.

To have any chance of hosting a first round NCAA game we need to win this tourney. I think we get in regardless.

La Tech falls behind 2-0 early in the second half but come back to win 3-2 in OT.  I believe it's the second year in a row La Tech has knocked out the tournament host.  UNT did not play La Tech this season.

Women's semifinals are tonight.  My daughter has an out of town basketball game tonight so I may not be around to update scores.  Feel free to update this thread and I'll update the OP later tonight when I can.

Bit annoying that ESPN+ had "technical difficulties during the time when NT scored.

Tech ties it off a corner, with 35 minutes left.

20 min to go still tied at 1-1. NT has 11-3 shots, but LaTech had gotten a bit more pressure in the first part of the second half, but now it is mostly NT with real chances again.

USM won the first semifinal game with their second consecutive 1-0 win, this time over #2 FAU.

I wasn't able to watch until about 14 minutes were left in the game and around 12 minutes left we had two one on one's with the goalie and couldn't put either in the net.

I’d love to see a real possession based play just once from a UNT team.

I hear you. Its mostly successful soccer what Hedlund lets play. But it sure aint pretty. Reminding of English football in the 80ies and 90ies (thats no compliment). I also think its a limiting factor when you play the really good teams.

NT lucky twice in the first half of OT. Tech didn't get a goal due to offsides.

Just as I write that, NT with a huge chance, somehow Tech gets it just in front of the line.

Yeah. It is just a bunch of kickball. 😞 

it is low percentage play that is akin to going for the long ball every time. Drives me nuts. Simple possession would have destroyed a team like la tech.
