 I'll simplify it for him.

7:00 Kickoffs in September

6:00 Kickoffs in October

5:00 Kickoffs in November

You can't be disappointed by the fans not filling the stadium when you are letting the people in the caviar suites pick the game times. Our fan base was made by tailgating but the caviar and bonbon crowd has their party upstairs during the games.

@Adler has this absolutely correct.

Regardless what you like we always have the best attendance on Saturdays when we follow this time table, this is my 17th year doing this and its true I have paid attention.

Not arguing the point, just curious, why does this make a difference?  I get that later games in September are better to avoid the heat, but why does the time keep getting earlier later into the calendar?  Do child care needs or bed times change?  Does the drive become easier at those times?  Again, genuinely wondering.

Tailgating.... Not important!  Ball game.. Important!

It's that simple!

When you are traditionally as bad as NT has been, tailgating is super important.  It is how I became a fan of the team, because the on field performance certainly was not sufficient.

Warmer during the daylight hours in November than at night?

From the perspective of someone who has a 5 hour drive to get to Denton, having a 1pm kickoff makes it necessary to get on the road by 7am, and eliminates participating in any pre-game events.  Driving up on Friday would require taking off from work (try getting out of Houston during afternoon rush hour - it takes 2 - 3 hours instead of 1 to get to Conroe), and two nights in a hotel instead of one.

3pm would be OK, even if it isn't homecoming, as I can either choose to get going early to get there with a few hours before kickoff, or get a more leisurely start and just make it for kickoff.

For homecoming, I generally plan to take Friday off for to come for the bonfire and the parade on Saturday morning, so 3pm is just fine.

I like @ADLER's scheduling plan.

I don't think it maters much between a 5 and 6 start. I just mean an evening game schedule. I don't know the answers for sure. I like to tailgate but I just know what I have seen. Whether its getting family obligations completed, getting off work, being able to tailgate, getting their chores done, time to drive in,  or a hundred other reasons. I just know that the evening games on Saturday more times than not have the best attendance when compared  to early starts.

i love thursday night games and i start a new shift next week where i work four, 10 hour days and get thursday off every week along with my weekends so now for the FAU game i can take friday off and have a 4 day weekend! but traditionally thursday nights have been awesome for our student crowd and the games have had great atmospheres.
