I would love to know if you've actually heard anything of substance like this, but even now I wouldn't be surprised. At least SMU has given us games in women's basketball over the past, and of course football. I'd be curious to know the last time TCU voluntarily played us in any sport. I remember in 2018 we hosted TCU in the "NIT" of volleyball. That game irked me. TCU won in five sets after an unimaginable purple-requested stoppages of play to wipe the floor anytime UNT got momentum and the building got loud.
Here's the full bracket. We're the unofficial 6 seed in our quadrant. We could theoretically host Georgia Tech in the second round if they beat Mississippi State. Looks like George Mason is the only team we could host in the third round unless there were other venue conflicts.
This respect is happening as a result of culture that has formed around this sport in our university. It’s so exciting. We get to play along with all those universities from big to small conferences while getting pumped for the upcoming hours and days. Thank you players, Coach Grant and Coach Hodge.

Me neither. There's what, 80+ programs in the P6 conferences alone? They can't all be contenders. Mathematically many will have down years every year. Everyone should be excited for postseason ball.
Bringing back the NIT Final Four to MSG I think would be a good first step in regaining some prestige with the tournament. Doubt many "general basketball fans" watched the games in Vegas last year.
