It wasn’t player safety it appeared to be something Wells said.  Pretty classless move by a “professional” either flag him or keep it moving.

Wells (great player talent wise) was a punk all game.  If you’ll recall, he was the one continuing to get an extra shove or word in after multiple plays including our last rushing TD.  Early on I remember thinking “man, I wish I could add him to our D-line” and by the end of the game I thought “not worth the headache, he’d certainly keep an opposing team’s drive going with a penalty.”

Agreed, one has to wonder if our culture is in place deeply enough that it could thwart a player from acting like that bc (it isn’t what we do here).  He’s a talented kid for sure!
