Realtime RPI has us at 47 with projected losses against #48 LaTech, #83 UAB, and #46 FAU.

Do they update the projected win/loss column as the season goes or is that from pre-season?

I’m guessing pre-season. ESPN win projector doesn’t have us losing another game. With closest game being @ UAB (~60% win percentage).

They update for basketball season, so I assume they must.

Now I need to go back to whatever year it was the UNT was in the top 20 under Fry.

Edit:  It was 1977 and they didn't show up until the final poll.

Edit edit:  They got no AP votes the entire year.  The #16 ranking was in the UPI coaches poll.

OldDenton types said Hayden (as a UPI voter) made this ranking happen for North Texas & again back in 1975, but Hayden could not have possibly gotten the Mean Green to that #16 ranking all by himself inasmuch as the other high ranking for UNT a few years earlier (1975).  Duly Note:  Darrell Royal would have probably been a vote for North Texas as he had a likeness for Fry & was said to have been an apparent supporter for North Texas to gain SWC membership---problem was he seemed to be alone with that idea.  Amazingly, DKR upon his announced retirement in 1976 was even spurned on his choice for his successor at UT, one Mike Campbell.  UT Regent Frank Erwin poo'poo'ed Royal request and rather chose Fred "Dead Head"  Akers.   OH THE POLITICS THAT TAKE PLACE IN THE LONE STAR STATE! LOL!

For newbies on Harry's message board that era was the bellcow for many of us on GMG.com until we were almost  convinced it could never happen again; that is, until now with Seth Littrell leading the charge ALONG WITH PREZ'  SMATRESK AND THE BOARD OF REGENTS AND WREN BAKER.

HAPPY TIMES ARE HERE AGAIN!

GMG!
