UNT doesn't have much of a run game. Their O-Line is not overly huge, with the exception of the left tackle, Jordan Murray, who is 6'9" and 325 lbs. Three of the linemen are transfers. From the looks of it, this line was built to pass block. Arkansas' ends must get pressure on Mason Fine (who is only 5'11"), force him to scramble, take him out of his comfort zone, get hits on him, and force him into errors/bad passes.
I would look for the nickelback, or another corner, to play most of the game. Shutting down UNT's apparantly limited running attack will be the job of the Hogs DT's and LB's (Harris, Pool).
UNT's defense looks to run a 3-3-5. The Mean Green look to have plenty of speed, but not much size inside.
They are only giving up 74 rushing yards per game, but one must consider who they have played so far. They also give up 202 yards passing. I would say look for the Arkansas O-Line to exert itself in the trenches again, hopefully between the tackles like they SHOULD HAVE DONE against Colorado St!
This will do a few things in the Hogs favor: 1. Eat time off the clock. 2. Keep UNT's offense on the sideline. 3. Allow Arkansas' defense to rest. 4. By the 4th quarter, the UNT front seven will be worn down, which means they will probably try to compensate by adding an eighth (or maybe even a ninth) man into the box, which in turn will open the passing game for Arkansas to burn them deep.
But, the Hogs must score touchdowns!
How ironic (and sickening) would it be if UNT, and former Arkansas, kicker Cole Hedlund beat us?
Can't let that happen!
