Unfortunately, there is too much money in this game for the NCAA to ever consider the death penalty again.

I don't think the NCAA would have a problem for a second giving teams like us or SMU for that matter the death penalty. Dallas and SMU survived just fine without football. As would Denton and UNT. It would suck. But we'd survive.

They'd never ever consider it in a town like Tuscaloosa, College Station, or Norman because they are cash cows and the cities seriously depend on revenue at not just the university but hotels, restaurants, stores, ect...

If the death penalty should have been used, the second team to get it should have been Penn State. Covering up child molestation, possibly for years, is just outright inexcusable. Those players should have been allowed to transfer, coaches/school officials should have been destroyed, and the team should have been axed as an example. Had that happen, the disaster at Michigan State would have gone very differently. Some things are more important than games.

If Penn State and Baylor survived, there will never be another death penalty.

Also tried to bribe an Arkansas State Trooper to cover it up lol

And violated a university hiring policy by hiring the woman and not disclosing the relationship. Basically the university was stuck. If they gave Petrino an all is forgiven, then how do you enforce it against a Vice-Chancellor, Dean or Department Chair who has tenure?

Because of SMU and how long they were on the canvas, there isn't ever going to be much passion for handing out death.

When UTPA got busted a second time, the school went to the Committee on Infractions meeting and said we are guilty and we have no defense or mitigating circumstances to avoid imposition of the death penalty and they still got off without death.
