What will the first two weeks tell us?

We were simply dominant against smuT.  Our offense moved almost at will, we converted third downs at a VERY high clip, and our defense was parked in their backfield.

We have Inconceivable Wart this week.  We should put up big numbers and rest some starters late.

So what, then, can we say for certain about our team?

We all expected that SMU would put up a much better fight and show some real talent...they didn’t.  Are we truly that improved or did we GREATLY overestimate their team?

If the running game gets untracked and Mason throws for another 400+ yards are we to believe our offense has become even more prolific, or are we picking on lesser competition?

I think we will only know who we are after lining up against Arkansas

One-in-a-row, and then two-in-a-row, is only a teaser; definitely not a trend. Prepare properly, win convincingly,  and that will give us a good indicator whether we could go on a roll.

The most telling event to come out of this Saturday's game will be the staying power of the North Texas fans.  Will they be back to get on the train or will they be scattered here there and yon following some other team or watching on tv or sorting their socks?  The fan base must mature with this team or Littrell will be out of here in a New York minute.  Empty seats do not build a program.
