Once again...how did we manage to end up here? All the nonsense about us wanting to go here for this reason and that reason was ridiculous. There was no benefit to us ending up here. What do we get from playing a team like Troy? We win and it’s “you should beat a sun belt team” we lose and it’s a huge issue for the program as you just lost to a SBC team that we were so eager to get away from bc we were better than them.

We should’ve either been closer to home in any of the DFW area games, where we can have a huge turnout with our fan base. Or playing FSU in Shreveport. We win, hey we beat FSU, we lose, oh well, it was FSU.

Whats happening now is exactly why this was not a good situation for UNT.

Yup

Complain to the conference about their bowl tie-ins and with the Independence Bowl committee members who slobbered over the thought of getting USM there against FSU instead of UNT.

After this, complain to the folks on here to get on board with the idea of going to the MWC if we EVER get an invite.

Absolutely. We should’ve played anywhere else.

Our fanbase is the absolute worst.

No, it’s just that we have standards and expectations above playing a community college. We are getting murdered by Troy in a subpar bowl matchup in an empty stadium. That’ll do wonders for recruiting.

Running from competition and talking down our opponent makes you look petty. Troy is not a weak opponent. Have a little class.

A college that is currently proving that they are at a level above us.

Of course, their own fans traveled much better, helping to make their team feel like the home team.

Really?  We are easily still in this game while not playing our best, but you all go right ahead a criticize our team, our opponent, their conference, the bowl game, etc...

UNT is a much better school than Troy. But this isn't a academic competition. It's a football one. And apparently we can't keep up

There is a quarter and a half left, it is a two score game and we scored 20 against a team that hasn't given up 25 all year. We can win this.

I agree, completely. And that’s the problem. We shouldn’t be associating with them.

Don't know why folks are jumping all over you for this. You are correct. Losing to a SBC school in a SBC bowl probably isn't the best play if you're looking to distance from the SBC. Should have been anywhere else.

Having an empty stadium is going to do wonders the next time a bowl without a CUSA tie-in, with a better matchup is looking for alternatives.

Guaranteed if RV was here we wouldn’t be in this bowl. He knew we needed to distance ourselves from SBC.
