Unbelievable, this might turn out to be a good thing for FAU.

So Chris can't recruit for two years, and any school who wants to hire him has to appeal to the NCAA, who has been against doing so in the past.  

So If Lane where to get another job, he would either have to 

1) Leave his brother behind, where a new coach would want nothing to do with him since he can't recruit.  

2) Take his brother along, where the NCAA might not allow the new school to hire Chris.  

 

So maybe this makes it more likely Lane will stick around?  I mean enough money gets him to go no matter what, but maybe he would turn down marginal P5 offers in order not to get his brother fired.

I don’t know, Michael had Fredo shot. If Lane gets another job, it is always an option.

Chris can't recruit for two years, but those seniors to be at Ole' Miss can transfer right in next year.  These penalties are just stupid.

Lil Briles will be FAU next coach. So maybe he sticks around for another year!
