MGN Army Preview

I was looking at FAU's close games, because in general they have been rolling lately.  I want to look for any observable trends.

Unlike the rest of the conference schedule, they barely got by Marshal which is a bit odd.
I think it's notable that FAU lost to Buffalo - currently 3rd in MAC - which lost to Army.

One of the things I've noticed about Army and anyone running that option offense, is that it is relatively consistent.  It doesn't have off days as much as the rest of us.  But maybe this year's ARmy squad is prone to having one? Or maybe Buffalo played over their heads?

I think any offense -- including the option ones -- can have off days. For all the physicality and "simplicity" it relies on timing, execution, and rhythm. If any of those are off it can backfire. I think Monken and company have done a good job this season with them.

I still think this NT team is the best Army has faced outside of Ohio State. They won't beat themselves, but I don't know that they have the athletes to stay with us on defense. I think NT has enough defensively to get enough stops.
