I can see 9 C-USA teams bowl eligible, is that a problem?

IF UTEP, Rice, and Charlotte continue down their current path:

North Texas needs to beat 2 of Old Dominion, UTEP, Rice – 6 wins

UAB beats two of Charlotte, Rice UTEP – 6 wins

Southern Miss beats Rice, Charlotte – 5 wins (Need one of La Tech, UAB, Marshall)

La Tech beats Rice, UTEP – 5 wins (Needs one of NT, FAU, UTSA)

UTSA beats Rice, UTEP – 5 wins (Needs one of FIU, UAB, La Tech, Marshall)

Marshall already at 5 wins

FAU beats Charlotte – 4 wins (Needs 2 of NT, WK, Marshall, La Tech, FIU)

Western Kentucky beats Old Dominion – 5 wins (Needs one of FAU, Middle, FIU)

Middle Tennessee beats UTEP, Charlotte, Old Dominion – 6 wins

 

Is there a chance a 6 win C-USA team stays home?

No problem. There will probably be 9 available bowl slots for CUSA teams.

Hopefully we'll land a spot in Dallas, Ft Worth, or Frisco when all the ESPN controlled trading is done. ESPN knows there are no non-P5 schools that can sell nearly as many tickets for these bowls as North Texas will. Last year North Texas sold around 30,000 seats in Dallas despite having a very spartan 5-7 record and a season that ended with 4 blowout defeats in 5 games.

I don't see it shaking out that way.   We're at mid-season and every team can't go on a run.

It's a good problem to have. Some conferences may not have enough eligible teams. We could then move - trade bowls with others so teams could possibly play closer to their campus

For those of you who hate UTSA, this may make you happy:
I anticipate wins over the next 2 weeks to force a bowl-clincher against FIU.  If FIU wins, UTSA stands a very good chance of losing 4 straight games and finishing 5-6.

It hasn't been brought up, but if UNT won out (fingers crossed they can).. 

They would be 6-2 vs bowl teams (if the schools listed above make it + Army)...

I count 64 teams at FBS level with four or more wins already, and another 32 with three wins. Assuming all four-win teams are in, that means only half of those three-win teams will get one of the eighty slots.
