I'm pretty sure that if we make it to the championship game and beat FAU along the way, we'll face Marshall. And if we beat them, maybe we'd be ranked for our bowl game.

Look at the remaining Marshall games.. they didn’t have a body bag game either..

MTSU, FAU, LAT, UTSA, and FIU.. they are going to be challenged the rest of the season

What about a T25 vote for us................too much to ask for???

Not there yet. UNT needs to creat a a bit of a name and a record better than 4-2. Right now UNT really doesn't have that, despite this seasons sexy numbers. Also we lost to two teams who are at best also on the others receiving votes list. Marshall got one single vote, likely due to a homer thiking highly of them due to name recognition.

If we beat FAU next week, we'll get closer, but I don't think it happens unless we also beat LaTech.

We're at 68 in the CBS poll and 102 in Sagarin.

There are no future opponents ranked above us in the CBS poll.

Sagarin still has Southern Miss and UTSA above us.

According to Sagarin, current odds on future opponents (+3 points for home team taken into account):

FAU favored by 5

UNT favored over Old Dominion by 12

LaTech favored by 6

UNT favored over UTEP by 21

Army favored by 1

UNT favored over Rice by 11

There's a good chance that this becomes a very, very special season, but I'll reserve "ROAD TO 10-2 AND RANKED LIKE A DUMBASS ROADKILL CHICKEN!!!!" assertions for now, though I do think we're in solid position to most certainly go to a bowl.

SL has a vote, he should do it.. and then it would generate some buzz then

That is exactly what Hayden Fry did - he voted us pretty high, but not #1 or #2. Back then there were fewer voters so one high ranking could get you into the top 20. (Not only fewer voters, but they only ranked the top 20 also.)

Awesome. Great for the conference. And great for us when we beat them in the Cusa championship game!

I do agree with the exception of hosting the championship.  If we had the same record, ranking would determine who would host.  I’d really really like to have a championship at Apogee!

Looks like we have to win out the rest of the season then! (just to be sure)

It would be interesting and something that would draw a few alumni as well...
