Official Iowa Game Score Prediction Thread

The last time we played these guys they ran on our defense at will and hit play-action passes mercilessly.  We now play a 3-3-5 and leave our corners on islands.  We'll do better against the run, initially, until they hit the TE and/or WR that'll likely be running free a lot based on what I saw in our first 2 games this year.

IA - 30

UNT - 10

I think the Mean Green are ready to attack and take out their frustration this week.  They will take their nastiest game to Iowa.

Eagles (masquerading as hyenas)                       38

Hawkeyes (masquerading as water buffalo)      35

Here is a preview...

You, sir, appear to be quite the connoisseur of disturbed gif's.

Put me down for Iowa 45, UNT 24.

What...me disturbed?? 200.gif#1-grid1 I respect your well-reasoned prognostication but, as for me, it is time to invoke unconventional means in order to achieve the desired result...VICTORY.

@EagleMBA I'm sure there is a safety in there somewhere.

I do not disagree with you...its just that your vision and mine are different.  You envisioned a safety on the scoreboard, while I envisioned the safety as a hyena clamping down on the water buffalo's nads and dragging him down short of the first down. :)

After what I saw against SMU, I feel I need to base my prediction on a few possibilities.

If we actually "Let it Fly"....

North Texas 38

Iowa 41

If we run a gimmick "Wild Cat" for the first half....

North Texas 17

Iowa 66

Dear Lord!  Not sure I needed to see that this morning.

Where is this coming from?  Nate Stanley is completing 63% of his passes, has thrown eight touchdowns and only one interception, and has a QB rating of 174.

His stats aren't padded by having an FCS opponent either.  Wyoming will challenge for the MWC title this year.  Iowa State is always a hard fought rivalry game, and was played on the road this year.

He threw three TDs against Wyoming and five against Iowa State.  You are kidding yourself if you think QB is a weak spot.

Iowa 52, UNT 6...unless Ferentz wants to get walk ons and third teamers a shot to play in a real game in the fourth.  Then, maybe, Iowa 52, UNT 13.

Have you actually watched him?  Stats can be misleading.

Oh, boy.  Yes, I've watched him.

By "stats can be misleading," do you mean stats compiled against FCS opponents or on the back end of blowout losses?  If so, you may want to reassess your own quarterback's abilities.

Good luck this weekend and with the rest of your season after it.
