SMU's Coach Morris Praises Mason Fine

"He's extremely accurate. He anticipates really well. When you watch him on video, you wouldn't think he was a sophomore," SMU head coach Chad Morris said. "This guy looks more comfortable and more confident. That's what you expect in a second-year player."

Both NT and SMU blew out Southland conference teams last week. The Southland plays in NCAA Division 1. In football, they play in the division 1 football championship subdivision. Lamar dropped football for a while but brought it back in 2011. Wikipedia lists Lamar's record as 202-263-9. They aren't a startup anymore and are roughly equal to the other Southland schools in resources. Actually, Lamar probably has stronger financial recourses than most of the Southland.

SMU and NT played roughly equivient teams and blew them out by roughly equivalent amounts.

I'm talking about playing a better opponent and that this is Fine's first true test this season. We ran all over Lamar with our running game. This is a pivotal game for Fine to show us he is the real deal.

I think you thought wrong. But you deflected and saved face.

Lamar = SFA

This is what they call "moving the goal posts". This statement is vastly different from your originally one, and unfortunately for you, still not accurate.  Last year Lamar was 3-8 in conference, SFA was 4-5 in conference.  Very similar.
