Have we quit?

This is the first time all year that we look like we have quit. That includes the Florida and La Tech games. I understand that Western Kentucky is really good but the effort isn't there. Hopefully Seth and his staff can light a fire at the half and get them to show some pride or this will be a 60 point loss and a major step backwards. Very disappointed.

We have not quit. We have just run up against a much better team than us. We are in year one of the rebuild. Need to temper our enthusiasm a bit.

Reality has reared its ugly head.

This is the best team in CUSA. Reality is that we went 1-11 a year ago, and since 2014 have clearly been near the bottom of the conference. The performances against Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, and Western Kentucky have demonstrated the progress that has to be made to get to the upper echelon of CUSA.

Reality is correct. Thankfully it's downhill from here. We have a chance to get a reeling Southern Miss team at home next week and get win #5.

We have two games ahead that we can be competitive with...and, the bowl hope is still there.  Let's keep our hopes alive and relish the fact that we are still alive at this time in the season for a possible bowl.

I was at the game, and it really boils down to a lot of what we were all concerned about at the beginning of the year, Depth.

We played really well at the beginning of the year and the sum was more than the parts, all that crap.

When you run up against WKU, who was bigger and faster, it's the tenth game of the year, you traveled a long way, it's cold, and your QB get's knocked out in the first half (After you learned your RB is done), you start looking at a thinner and thinner roster.

WKU had no problem using four receivers, changing out defensive players and showing their top level players. You could tell WKU was conscious of our team being tired and beat up as they started just running the ball up the gut with five minutes left in the first half. (Thankful to the WKU coach for not embarrassing us when he could have). I'm hopeful we have enough gas in the tank to squeak out the last two wins, but it will be an amazing effort by a ragtag bunch if they do.
