So if we take the above photo, knowing that Fine is listed at 5'11", Coach is listed at 5'10, and Graham is 6'2", then we couple that with my own personal photo of Coach with a 5'09" self (yes, this is accurate according to the docs that gave me a physical in June), and we see that Mason is, indeed about 5'11".Stephen%20with%20Coach%20Littrell.jpg

. . . pay no attention to the RV photobomb in the background.

Is that a, uh, carryall?

Maybe you just have terrible picture taking posture. Maybe you are bending to 5'7". And with that man purse weighing you down, that's probably another 1/2" right there.

The official height will be released Saturday.

This may be the greatest post I have ever seen on any board, because I have no freakin' idea what it means...

Well, since there is a good chance your name is Rick, Mark or Steve...please interpret that post in terms that one who is not living an alternative lifestyle might understand.

Please excuse gratuitous, though obscure. "Steel Magnolias" reference.

Dale Fine, Mark Pirtle?

I will assume those are relatives of the two players. No, just grew up there and still cling a little. My parents are buried there and I've always referred to LG as my hometown, even though I left in 1966. It's one of those little towns where nothing ever happens (well, if you don't count the Girl Scout murders) and nobody ever becomes famous. Before Mason Fine the only professional athlete I can recall is Bob Davis, who played for the Padres and Blue Jays (I think) for a few years. A lot of people in that area have a lot of emotional capital invested in Mason and Jason and if you check your parking lot during home games you will probably see a buttload of Mayes County tags.

Jeez dude. That's kinda countable and shocking. I expect the "except the annual Christmas Parade."

WTH?

Now I must Google "Locust Grove Girl Scout murders."

Old familiar story to the older geezers but UNT Athletic Hall of Famer and teammate to Mean Joe Greene, ie, defensive end Cedrick Hardman was 5'10" his freshman year at UNT.   By his senior year at UNT he grew to 6'5" & 240 lbs, was drafted #1 by the SF 49'ers and had a great All Pro career.

If Mason Fine grew to 6'5" would that make all happy or might he be too tall to suit those who are nit'pickin' this subject to a slow death.

Some things never change on GMG.com, but I still find it entertaining as all get-out!

What I have seen of Mason Fine thus far has this older geezer excited about our alma mater's next 4 years.

GMG!

No more 5 year plans, please, because some of us are running out of time for too many more 5 year plans!

A little late to this thread and it seems of course now but my .02. When Fine got the ball out quickly he looked good. But agree with @BillySee58 & @Mean_Green09 that when the pocket collapsed, he had to try and get out of there, as he couldn't see where to go. The height is an issue in those situations.

But I don't think it's that big a deal. The rest of his game seems solid for such a young player and I'm excited to watch him for 4 years. ALL QB's have limitations in their game. Heck SMU's QB is a terrible passer and he just single-handedly beat us.
