OSU's Mike Gundy against adding Texas teams to Big 12

"The concern is, and where that comment is coming from, is if your northern schools put a southern school, and another school in Texas, in the same league, that essentially is going to pull recruits from all of us," Gundy said. "That’s what it comes down to."

"Anyone that’s not in Texas will have a more difficult time recruiting Texas if another Texas school gets in this league," he reiterated.

Told ya ... first Dimel and now Gundy. College football is about self-preservation. 

Houston won't be added for this simple reason.

I don't often find myself thinking Gundy is spot on but this is an exception. I imagine the four Texas schools have political pressure to say they endorse Houston but the six non-Texas schools likely see it the way Gundy does.

Agreed.  The Texas Big 12 schools can say they tried but we're outvoted to save face politically.
