Cole Hamils gets his 8th win over Cincy. Tonight.

Texas now with a 10 game lead over the west.

Tied the Cubs for most wins at 47.

Houston overtakes Seattle for 2nd place.

But.....the bad news is Lewis may miss 2 months...only 6 days after flirting with a perfect game.  And Holland on the DL with a sore something?

We need Darvish to get back soon.

Talk about needing a day off! We are pretty beat up, but they can rest tomorrow before Boston shows up. Starting pitching is going to be a problem and I hope we've got some good arms we can call up. For tonight I'm going to enjoy our ten-game lead over Houston. Here they come! Hopefully Seattle will continue to play themselves out of contention.

Perez is finally coming around. Griffin will be back for the next series. Then of course Hamels. But other than that it's a pretty shaky list of starters. Good thing we have built a 10 game lead this early in the season because this might be where we fall off of Cloud Nine. And we've got a lot of road games coming up.

So now do we go after bullpen guys or another starting pitcher before the trade deadline? And who are we willing to part ways with?

What a waste of a quality start by Perez! I couldn't post about it after the game...I had to vomit. We got Bush-whacked. Now our lead is back down to 9 games and here comes Houston. We must win tonight, I hope Griffin is ready to rock.

Texas has put itself in a very good position. Don't look now, but Houston is 22-12 in its last 34 games, including a current 8 game win streak.

Things get tough for Texas from after today's game until mid August, when Texas plays 27 of 38 on the road. If Texas finish that stretch with at least a 5 game lead, they will be sitting pretty, as the remaining schedule has 30 home games vs. 18 road games.

Really need Darvish and Colby to come back quickly from... whatever is going on with them physically (has it even been called an injury yet?).

Darvish was soreness and tightness, and Lewis is a strained Lat muscle.

Darvish is supposed to begin a pitching session today and is scheduled to pitch a simulated game in the next coming days.

Darvish and Keone Kela both threw bull pen sessions today, and it was Kela's second bull pen session after having bone chips removed from his elbow.

Another great win today! Now on to the Yankees...and start Chi Chi Gonzalez? WTF? This is where the starting pitching starts to hurt us. Hang on Rangers, the All-Star break is coming in about three weeks.

This old man went to bed agonizing over a sure loss and dropping a game to the ASStros. I woke up to a bright day and everything is just fine! Good chance we can win tonight and keep the pressure on.

Hamels is the MAN! Another win and we kept our double-digit lead. Could be tough for us tonight with Martinez on the mound. It is definitely time for the ASStros and Marinaras to lose a game so we can afford to do the same. Go Rangers!

The Rangers can afford to lose 9 games and remain atop the ALWest.

True...absolutely true. But I like the feel of that 10-game cushion and would like to maintain it. Who needs the drama of a pennant race when it is your home team on top?

Bush and Dyson shits the bed giving up 6 runs in the 9th to help the Yankees come from being down 7-3.

In the very least...I wasn't there in person to watch this disaster.

Complete meltdown in the 9th. That one was hard to watch, but at the same time probably a little fortunate to have even had a 7-3 lead at that point.. Nick Martinez had 5 walks, of his 84 pitches only 38 of those were thrown for strikes. He was upside down on his strikes and balls and we still managed to have a 7-3 lead going into the 9th (Martinez responsible for only 2 runs and Ramos for one). JD will definitely be looking to add to the bullpen this summer, which is our absolute biggest need.

This about sums it up:

Hope we can somehow bounce back from that disaster and win today, thus taking the series. With Griffin on the mound we have a chance.
