I wouldn't call it falling in love. Vito is pushing the Morris narrative and I think Shanbour is better. One mans opinion to another

Vito is pushing the Vito narrative. ?

Looking at the LBs and secondary one has to think the JUCOs will probably change much of that part of the depth chart. Similarly, freshman might impact the lineup at WR.

Anyone else remember how deep we used to be at RB?

Disagree.  Littrell and Harrell are the ones who brought Morris in, so of course Morris will be running with the ones after only two weeks time. Morris was their guy. But in Littrell's last interviews he said Quinn is right there with him and refused to name the starter against SMU until the fall camp is over. That is a far cry from Vito's "far gone conclusion" that Morris is the man and that there is a "huge drop off should he get hurt." Seems to me, Littrell/Harrell like them both equally. It is much closer between the 1 and 2, than 2 and 3 despite what Vito said in previous articles. This is evident by the amount of reps given Shanbour in the Spring Game. The one who has gained the most in the Spring has been Shanbour from where he started out. Especially considering that he was 4th or 5th string last year under the old regime and coming into the Spring. Morris has pretty much stayed the same from where he started with Shanbour now just right behind him. This should be an interesting Fall camp in regards to the QB. That being said, from all indications, I think both QBs are going to be used this year regardless of who starts. As for falling in love, the only falling in love I have read on this forum is Vito's love of men over 6'3 (i.e. DT, his last man crush; and AM, his current man crush).

If they work out. But Jucos don't work out as starters very often.

Agree on the freshman recievers though.

Private school kid hate on his part (lol)?  I'm definitely a believer in the objectivity of the press, but he does seem to stress the negatives on QS (and us) at a pretty high rate. Although I lean toward Morris at this point, I'm still certainly on the fence in regard to the QB decision. Hopefully Littrell will make the correct choice come August, and that we have a competitive situation brewing between now and then. Great to have position battles where guys are pushing each other to get better.

Who's that? The horrible-decision making thug that use to play for the Knicks? Who actually recently makes fun of himself on a recent priceline commercial. I don't get the connection between him and Morris?

No one fell in love with Shanbour, @Brett Vito. Stop being a teenage girl...

Just from what I have read, it seems like more people have just been saying things along the lines of Morris still needing to prove more before anointing him the undisputed starter. And that Shanbour should be given a shot to win the job since Morris is basically just as inexperienced.

Several surprises for me.

Guys that started last year not even listed like Turner Smiley (WR) and Roderick Young (DT)

The amount of new guys starting in the OL (Keenan, Henson)

The depth comment made before the spring game is probably understated.

Defensive line is way too thin for my liking.

Am I reading this chart correctly? Shanbour is roughly the same build as Jeff Wilson? Hope we have solid backups for when that frail Wilson gets hurt?

Wilson had some injury issues already, no? He should get less blindside hits and have more of a chance to prepare for the coming shot. QS is, I think, wwell muscled enough to help absorb a pounding. I'm pretty sure he was one of the top offseason workout guys last summer.

Based on this depth chart, I think it is safe to say that we are not optimistic on Bryce English's eligibility this year.

Like most people who understand the new rule have been saying since he transferred here...

Yeah, I'm more than a bit surprised to see that about Young. Anyone know if he has been dinged up or something?
