247 Sports is showing that Keenan Johnson committed to North Texas on December 15.   http://247sports.com/player/keenen-johnson-81263

He played quarterback in high school but is likely recruited as a safety; hence being listed as an athlete.

Billy, can you verify this?

Never mind.  I just read Vito's Blog where he said he would finalize early this year.

This kid was very very close to being in Denton..

I am just impressed that our staff is that close to landing a kid they had talked to for a month.. THAT is impressive.

Another close miss in the first recruiting class that might come back to bit us.

If you are meaning bite....I dont think it will. Its not something that we completely missed on like the kid from Lake Dallas that we didnt offer and now he is tearing it up at UTSA. We had him committed to us for a stint and just lost the battle. We dont play Tulsa, so I dont see it bitting us

Now if you meant Bit, than I cant wait to see what kind of Bit he is going to drum up.

i did mean bite and I was thinking more in terms of quality depth 2-3 years down the line when these recruits really need to hit.
