Mike Ekeler - LB Coach Georgia - It's official!

Quite possibly the greatest hijacking of a thread I've seen on GMG.com in a long time, if ever.

All you guys citing famous rock band drummers need to stop down and listen to Stix's boy above as well as Elvin Jones & Max Roach.  These are real drummers.

They used to do 'drum battles' back in the day...    Enjoy (with a little Buddy Rich thrown in at the end):

I am assuming he will coach linebackers so that gives us:

HC- Littrell

OC/QB - Graham Harrell

RB/ST - Tommy Perry(possibly)

WR - Joel Filani

OL - Brad Davis

TE - Maybe Littrell

DC/LB - Mike Ekeler

DL - Kevin Patrick(possibly)

CB - ???

S - ???

Not sure if Ekeler will want to combine CB and S into a DB coach or separate them.

GA's - ???

This is a good hire.  He's no Jeremy Pruitt, but we are no Alabama.   I like the hire and it seems like we have a young energetic coaching staff that could really take off and do good things.  Now we need to trick some all-star kids into coming here and believe that it will be the right move.  Then we can boom.

I'm interested to see if he brings in another WR coach, just because you typically see an inside and outside WR coach on air raid staffs.

I believe the limit is still 9 assistant coaches and 4 GA's.  If that's the case then it will hinge on the combination of duties like Special Teams and one other position(like Perry does now) Littrell could decide to combine S/CB or IWR/OWR. He may want to give up TE duties as well.

Look I'm a rock guy, but remember we go to a jazz school.  Everyone throwing out rock drummers really needs to listen to some jazz drummers,  like Ginger Baker who I posted above.

You don't have to wail incredibly hard on the drums to be really impressive,  just keeping perfect time in a strange time signature would blow most rock drummers out of the water:
