If it is Meacham who does he bring?

Does he bring anybody from tcu? I was thinking he would bring curtis luper as OC.

I would think that Patterson won't allow his staff to be gutted. Meacham would surely need to tap his network of contacts elsewhere.

Which I was told is deep. Wouldn't be surprised to see some dfw high school coaches make his staff either.

I just want one former HS only  HC on the staff at a time.. but lets just say if they are big pulls in DFW and would give us a legitimate shot in the arm from a local recruting standpoint I could be convinced to have 2

So, if we are looking at a currently employed coach for a coordinator, we are probably looking at current position coaches.  I would assume Big 12 mostly, but maybe even CUSA or SunBelt.

Beyond that, the list would likely include any currently unemployed coordinators.

In terms of our position coaches, I would assume the list would come from G5/FCS/HS?

I am assuming we will be in the market for the following assistant coaching positions:  OC, DC, OL, DL, LBs, WRs/TEs, DBs, RBs, (OC will likely handle QBs), Special Teams, GA1, GA2.  On top of these there will be a S&C coach.

The Horney Toads board have speculated Luper might leave. Some GA's who've helped their OL show tremendous improvement might be up for a promotion on Meacham's new staff. I'm all for taking as much as you can from Patterson!! It's like someone leaving the treat bowl out on Halloween. Grab two fistfuls and get the hell out of there quick!

Could Patterson stop it if Meacham was offering that coach a promotion?

No, I doubt if he could stop it. I was thinking more along the lines of the "goodwill factor", or "coaches ettiquette", or something along those lines involving interpersonal relationships and the future. Patterson knows the game and he knows what we need but he wouldn't be too happy if we threw a wrench into his well-oiled machine. JMO.
