He was at UNT when I was attending.  He is a good guy but he never advanced beyond a position coach after 16 years at UT.  Although like Mac he has a National Championship ring he can flash.

No way RV signs him. He doesn't have any of the qualities that have been sited as important for the next coach. The divisions within our fan base would only widen.

I guess he was fired at Texas when Charlie Strong took over there.  I know that assistant coaches occasionally have a hiatus after a regime change.  It does kind of make me wonder what he did during 2015.

gagree.  I would love for this guy to be on the staff in some capacity, but as hc....   Not the right guy.
