Last Game Against UTEP - How would you market to get butts in the seats?

Free tickets and parking to the first 10,000 who show up. Period. Movie theaters don't make most of their money from ticket sales, they make them from the concession stands. Get people in the stadium and hope they buy enough food/drinks to make up for the ticket sales. If anything, you at least had a better showing and game-day atmosphere for the graduating seniors.

great idea. I have no clue why this AD doesn't come up with more creative ways to get people at the games when we are nowhere close to selling out games. Free tickets and free parking would be a great start.

I appreciate the parking idea on a broader scale, and have voiced this more than once.. Those spots are like seats on a plane.

When we do our annual BBQ tailgate, I usually have 20 or so families that have no ties to the university bringing food, drinks, chairs, etc. They would pay $20 to pay in the Blue lot. Instead they pay $10 to park at Fouts or to park in the front yards of our friendly neighbors to the South.

Whatever the number of spots that qualify through MGC club and donations should be reserved. Then the rest should be opened up to those that will pay more to be closer. Another revenue source for an athletic department that has a few buyouts and salary increases for which to pay.

First of all...And this part is serious...Because we suck this year...Because what do we have to lose?   For the love of GOD, just have FREE parking for the last game.   There is NO reason to hold out parking by the stadium when it's 75% empty and then charge people to park at Fouts and walk over.  Fans have done enough and done their part...Give them a little reward.

Free parking would have to be either the south half of the Red / Blue lots or at Fouts. There are season ticket holders with assigned parking in the white, green, and black lots; and most of those are showing up.

It's $25 for MGC members to buy extra parking passes.

you know they should bring back the free car give away they had two  years ago.  I still laugh thinking about it.  The person had to pass and from that spot they had to punt and from that spot they had to kick a field goal to win the car.  But wait there was more they had to start at the back of the end zone.  The sales manager screwing the little guy again in a free car give away.  I mean let them start from the goal line at least.  You had to laugh about.

Here's why you don't market this game to the general public (paid advertising).

1) People don't care for free tickets-- "There's no such thing as a free lunch."  Its people's opportunity cost, they would rather do something else than to see two garbage games.

2) Again, its going to be a garbage game.  Why would you want to bring people to the stadium when theres a good possibility that there won't be much of an atmosphere.

3) Going to the Ryan v Guyer game will draw more fans... Thats not a good impression

4) Save the marketing money for next year with the new head coach

Here's what you do:

Use only social media(free) to advertise "Fan Appreciation/ Sr. Day" with free parking and tickets.  The person you want to go to the game is someone that has a little interest in UNT.  They won't be drawn back by a bad performance because they already follow the program(because they most likely received the info from the UNT account that they follow).

Don't get carried away Dentonites don't support their high schools any better than they support the colleges. As said before plenty of deadheads to go around in little "d" !
