It's been exciting every 4.5 years when we hire a new football coach.Regardless of our new head coaches recent success in other states, I really want someone who has come up thru the Texas high school ranks similar to SMU's recent hire.

Super long shot candidate.  He's older (but not near retirement), plenty of college experience at big name programs, success as a Texas high school coach and already has relationships with Texas high school coaches. 

He won't even get an interview, but I thought he was interesting based on what I've seen in various threads about what some people want in the next head coach.

I've only hear Becks name for bigger jobs, his resume is much better than most of the guys we're talking about.  

I agree, he's exactly what you want from the resume aspect but I dont see us getting him.  Not saying it will happen but I also think its a super long shot.

impressive resume.  Not a splash name hire but certainly qualified.
