Halloween Attendance Projection

What is your projected attendance for the UTSA game on Halloween?

Good Things to Consider:

  • It's Premiere Weekend for prospective students; hopefully the team can give them something to root for and a reason to get loud
  • The offense made strides against WKU
  • The defense made strides against Marshall

Bad Things to Consider

  • We're still 0-7
  • The two teams have a combined record of 1-13 (.071 winning percentage)
  • It's Halloween; with a losing team, we could lose a large number of families and students who made the trip on Halloween 2013 for a 5-3 team

Matt from A700's projected [announced] attendance: 16,422.

Rain+Halloween+0-7 = 5-6k.

We can't help the rain and we can't help Halloween falling on Saturday this year, but 0-7 is avoidable. Reverse that 0-7 and still keep the rain and Halloween in the equation then you are looking at 25k, minimum. AT LEAST 12-15K students would come out to see a very good 6-1/7-0 UNT team play. 10K alum would be a given if we had a squad out there. But, no.

Thanks, RV.

My attendance prediction is 8,011. That is the same number of people that showed up in Portland to see two top-25 ranked FCS teams in the afternoon in good weather.

This should be a 1:30 start and I would go.

Why isn't this an afternoon game again?

If it rains, it will be very little...well under 10,000 actual people in stands.

Not that it matters this year but our attendance is always better if the game is at 6:00 pm when we  have Saturday games. People get off work, kids sports are finished by that time of day and the list continues

We will announce  16k and we will actually be around 6k. We are going to be the very last priority for many casual fans, that almost anything is bettter than going to drive all the way to Denton. If it rains it may be much ls less.

Speaking of which, did 21 decide not to pick the game up from ASN?   From what I can tell, it's not being televised locally.

No, but it's free on their website. Same thing happened with BBall last year. ASN was here but 21 wouldn't carry it.
